Let’s figure out your next home lending move.
I’m a mortgage broker in South Yarra, Melbourne, and I spent over a decade inside Australia’s major banks before co-founding Everstone Finance. I help clients across Australia get a clearer picture of where they stand, whether it’s a first home, a refinance, an investment property or a complex commercial deal.

Quick answers
Is this really free? What’s the catch?+
There’s no catch, but here’s the honest mechanics: brokers in Australia are paid by the lender after your loan settles, not by you. Lenders price loans the same whether you go direct or through a broker, so there’s no cost penalty for using me. The chat itself costs nothing, and so does walking away from it.
What actually happens in the chat?+
We talk through where you are and what you’re trying to do. I’ll usually look at your borrowing capacity across a few lenders, sanity-check the rate you’re on, and tell you what I’d do in your position. You leave with clear next steps, whether or not they involve me.
Will this affect my credit score?+
No. A consultation involves no credit check. I only run a credit enquiry once you’ve reviewed your options and given me explicit consent to formally apply.
Am I going to get a sales pitch?+
No. I’d rather you stay put than churn for the sake of it. If your current bank is genuinely your best option, I’ll tell you that, and the chat ends there. This business only works long term if the first conversation is honest enough that people come back years later.
I don’t know if I’m ready. Is this still worth it?+
Yes. Most people who book aren’t applying for anything yet. They want to know what’s possible: borrowing capacity, what rate they should be paying, whether a refinance is worth it. We can plan 6 to 12 months ahead so when you’re ready, the strategy’s already in place.
My situation is complicated. Will that be a problem?+
Complicated is normal. Self-employed income, credit bumps, visas, trusts, a deal another broker couldn’t place: I spent a decade inside the banks, so very little surprises me. The messier it is, the more useful the chat tends to be. No judgement, just options.
How do you actually get paid?+
By the lender, after your loan settles, at no cost to you. Commissions are broadly similar across lenders, and I operate under the Best Interests Duty as Australian Credit Representative 574314, which legally requires me to recommend what’s right for you, not what pays most.
Do I need to prepare anything?+
For a first chat, no. If you’d like indicative numbers, a rough idea of your income and (if refinancing) your current loan balance helps. Bring questions.
Phone, Zoom or in-person?+
Your choice. When you book, you’ll be asked your preference. In-person meetings happen at our South Yarra office.
Can we speak in Arabic or French?+
Yes. I speak English, Arabic and basic French. Mention it when you book and I’ll switch.
